How We Work

Inkquirey is a third-party booking service connecting tattoo artists and customers. The purpose of our platform is to make the tattoo booking process as seamless as possible for EVERYONE.

Our goal is to have a centralised place where customers can find tattoo artists in their local area who specialise in the exact style that suits them best. Additionally, artists can add their Profile URL links to their Instagram bios and send it to people who inquire about booking a tattoo.

Artists massively benefit from using our platform because it completely reduces the time they need to take each week to manage bookings, and take appointments. We know the pain that artists go through in terms of responding to DMs, asking for reference images, taking deposits, and managing their calendars… so we created Inkquirey as a zero cost solution to alleviate this pain.

Our booking process is simple, but brilliant.

Customers just need to head to the profile of the artist they want to work with and click on “Book an Appointment”. Once the customer has clicked on here they will be prompted to fill in a quick survey with the details of the tattoo(s) they are looking for. We will ask for details like size, placement, and style. You also will need to upload a reference image. On this form you will also be able to suggest a time for your appointment. This is because the artist can directly integrate their Google Calendar with Inkquirey. As a customer, choose the time carefully, if the time doesn’t work the artist will reject your booking.

Once you have fully completed the form it will be sent to the artist. They will review the form and if they are happy to do the tattoo they will send you a payment link for the deposit. Deposits are standard in the tattoo industry. However, the deposit amount is at the discretion of the artist. Every artist is able to set their own deposit amount. Artists should remember that Inkquirey take a £1.75 booking fee and Stripe also take a fee, so feel free to factor this into the deposits you charge customers.

Once the deposit amount is set an email will be sent to the customer confirming the appointment date. From here, we strongly suggest you message the artist on social media with any concerns or queries regarding the appointment. However, once the deposit is sent to the artist – Inkquirey’s role in the booking process is done.
